George Kaiser Family Foundation
Originally from California and currently residing in Tulsa by way of New York, London, & Tel Aviv, most of Michael’s background has been in growing start-ups and investing in start-ups. In the last few years, he has become more impact-focused and is currently working with the George Kaiser Family Foundation in Tulsa, Oklahoma to explore different ways to better connect Tulsa with the coasts and help build the 21st Century economy in the Heartland.
Richie is the founder and lead analyst at Loose Threads, which provides research and guidance for next-generation consumer companies. He is known for a deep understanding of Amazon’s fashion play, the direct-to-consumer boom, fast fashion’s dominance and the shifting retail landscape. Fast Company named Richie’s Loose Threads Podcast one of the 10 Great Business Podcasts and his writing has been published and featured in The Business of Fashion, Fashion REDEF, Retail Dive, Lean Luxe and many other publications.
He previously ran Customer Insights at a fast-growing fashion/tech startup and founded and ran a NY-based menswear line. His operational background allows him to work at both the micro and macro level, driving growth and long-term strategy with an execution-focused mindset.

Jake Kassan is the CEO and a Co-Founder of MVMT, a lifestyle brand that was founded on the belief that “style shouldn’t break the bank” and that premium quality should come without big brand markups. Since its founding in 2013, MVMT has inspired millions of millennials around the world to “dress with intent” and to “live life on their own terms.” Kassan launched three successful startup brands prior to MVMT that each generated six-figures without raising outside capital.

To say that Babak has helped to scale a business is an understatement. When he left Beachbody from his role as SVP, Media and Customer Acquisition, the Company had just eclipsed $1 billion in sales, dramatically up from when he joined 8 years prior when the Company had $100MM in sales. He led all offline and online media (over $500MM in total spent over his tenure), social media, and the telesales teams. Previously, he had created the analytics group, who was responsible for delivering actionable insights for a fanatically data-driven company.
Currently, he works with brands helping them to increase the value of their customers and the value of the business overall. He brings a unique combination of understanding customer LTV and the importance of building a brand. As such, while customer acquisition and retention remains a core part of his client work, an increasing amount of his attention is helping his clients build amazing customer experiences, which benefits both their growth goals and their desire to build a sustainable brand.
His list of clients includes Stitch Fix, ButcherBox, NOBULL, Digital Marketer, and Revolution Golf, amongst others.
Babak received his MBA from Stanford Business School and his BS in Mathematics from MIT. The bulk of his spare time now is spent with his wife and 2 sons in Los Angeles.
Ken Brook is the Founder and CEO of MetaX, a blockchain technology company driving development and adoption of open platforms for digital advertising. A serial entrepreneur, Brook has built technology companies from the ground up since 2010. Prior to MetaX, Brook founded several adtech companies that led to his interest in developing blockchain-based solutions for the advertising industry. In addition to being very active in the advertising and blockchain communities, Brook advises several blockchain startups. Brook earned his B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies and Business and Communications from Arizona State University.

Trina Spear, Cofounder & Co-CEO, FIGS, Los Angeles, CA. Trina Spear is Co-Founder and Co-CEO of FIGS, a medical apparel company. Founded in 2013, FIGS offers a collection of tailored and technical scrubs sold direct to consumer through its vertically integrated e-commerce platform, both B2B and B2C. The company employs 35 as of February 2018, and increased sales 17-fold in the past two years. FIGS has raised $75 million from investors in three rounds, including most recently $65 million from Tulco (the fourth-largest raise for a female-founded company in 2017), and previously $10 million from Campfire Capital, JH Partners, Mohr Davidow Ventures and others. FIGS is a certified B-Corp, and in conjunction with its philanthropic 1-for-1 program, Threads for Threads, has donated hundreds of thousands of scrubs to in-need healthcare professionals across 35 countries. FIGS was recognized as Best for the World B-Corp in 2015. Prior to launching FIGS, Trina worked at The Blackstone Group. She was selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur in 2015. Trina obtained her BA in Economics from Tufts University, graduating magna cum laude. She completed her MBA at Harvard Business School. She is a member of the 2018 Class of Henry Crown Fellows within the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.
Shawn Gold is CMO of TechStyle Fashion Group, an industry leading platform to build hi-value membership driven fashion brands. TechStyle brands include Fabletics, JustFab, ShoeDazzle and FabKids. Before TechStyle he was head of entertainment brand partnerships at Wattpad.com, the world’s largest storytelling platform for the written word, and one of the fastest growing mobile content sites in the world. Previously he oversaw sales, marketing and content development as CMO of Inside Studios, a video and mobile app company creating shows with over 1 billion views on YouTube and MSN. Until 2007, he was CMO, head of marketing & content for MySpace. At MySpace Gold spearheaded the development and implementation of marketing initiatives and campaigns for MySpace during its growth from 25 to 110 million users worldwide. Prior to MySpace he was a partner and the founding publisher of Weblogs, Inc., a network of popular blogs that included Engadget, Joystiq and Autoblog, now part of AOL. As head of communications planning for Rare Medium, Shawn helped launch digital communications strategies for brands at P&G, General Mills, Nestle, Mattel and other international brand marketing companies.
Andrew Blachman is COO of Tophatter, the discovery shopping experience for mobile. Prior to Tophatter, Andrew was CEO of GET ME IN!, a European online ticket marketplace acquired by Ticketmaster in 2008. Before GET ME IN!, Andrew was a consultant for Stubhub and earlier was European director and VP Business Development for WideRay. Andrew began his career as an investment banker in Goldman Sachs’ high technology group in Silicon Valley and Hong Kong. He is also an early seed investor in several online marketplaces, including SeatGeek, Bridebook, and Outdoorsy. Andrew received a BA in economics and MS in engineering economic systems from Stanford University.

Julian is the founder and CEO of GetGlobal. He founded GetGlobal to gather the leading voices in international expansion and strategy, as well as to provide companies with the relationships they need for success in foreign markets. The GetGlobal summits of 2016 and 2017 broke new ground in gathering stakeholders from across the industrial, governmental, and disciplinary landscape. He started its predecessor Geoskope in 2011 as a knowledge company focused on helping executives understand the Indian economy, business climate, and society. In 2013, Julian expanded Geoskope’s coverage to Mexico, but in the following year pivoted the company to focus entirely on GetGlobal and transform the firm into a media and event brand. His specialization has been in South Asian security, economics, and politics. He has consulted for financial and analytic firms. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California, with a degree in International Relations and Business with graduate course work at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi, India. Prior to his time at USC, he worked in the entertainment and online media industry as the Southern California director of a diversified event, media, and marketing firm assisting Fortune 100 companies.

Andy’s career began as a United States Naval Officer who led a Special Forces boat team in the Iraq War. As “Fast Boat Commander,” he executed counter-terrorism operations in the Persian Gulf and his teams intercepted over 100 Al Qaeda suspects.
After the Navy, Andy co-founded HUMAN (Helping Unite Mankind And Nutrition), America’s first healthy vending company. HUMAN hit #168 on the Inc. 500 list and was a #1 Franchise in Category in Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500.
